Weekend Round Up | More success for Saracens teams
It was a brilliant weekend for Saracens as both the Men and the Mavericks had successful home matches, and also the internationals were on red-hot form in the Six Nations.Â
Saracens Men
The Men in Black made it a derby double on Sunday as they recorded a crucial 19-10 win over Harlequins at StoneX Stadium.Â
Tom Woolstencroft and Sean Maitland scored early tries as Sarries hit the front, and then they relied on three Alex Lozowski penalties after the break to get the victory.Â
The result means the North Londoners stay second in the Gallagher Premiership before their trip to London Irish on Saturday afternoon.
Saracens WomenÂ
There was no match for Alex Austerberry’s side last weekend so after five consecutive victories they had a well deserved break.Â
They are back in action on Saturday, hosting Gloucester-Hartpury at StoneX Stadium. The match is being live streamed, and tickets are also still available here.Â
Saracens Mavericks
The Mavericks continued their perfect start to the season on Friday night with a nail-biting 53-51 win over London Pulse. It was their first home match with a crowd for almost two years, and it was worth the wait with a packed out crows roaring on the team.Â
Kadeen Corbin and Beth Ecuyer-Dale received the Player of the Match awards, and their next match is on Sunday against Seven Stars at the University of Worcester Arena.Â
Internationals
It was another fantastic weekend in the Guinness Six Nations for the Saracens players who were on International duty. Nick Tompkins started in Wales’ win over Scotland at the Principality Stadium. Jamie George scored twice in England’s win over Italy in Rome, Elliot Daly also crossed the line at the Stadio Olimpico whilst Maro Itoje, Max Malins and Nick Isiekwe also started.Â
